RDA meets Romanian researchers - 30 May 2017 - Bucharest - Romania
The European branch of the Research Data Alliance, RDA Europe, is organising a series of RDA events through Europe. The aim if this event is to make the work of the RDA better known and to lower the effort to participate in the RDA activities in general and the Working and Interest groups in particular.
RDA is an international member-based organization focused on the development of infrastructure and community activities that reduce barriers to data sharing, exchange, and re-use. In summary, the goal is to accelerate data driven innovation worldwide. With more than 5,100 members globally representing 122 countries, RDA includes data science professionals from multiple disciplines, including but not limited to academia, agronomy, chemistry, biology, library sciences, earth sciences, astronomy and meteorology.
RDA is building the social and technical bridges that enable open sharing of data to achieve its vision of researchers and innovators openly sharing data across technologies, disciplines, and countries to address the grand challenges of society.
RDA Outputs are the technical and social infrastructure solutions developed by RDA Working Groups or Interest Groups that enable data sharing, exchange, and interoperability. These outputs have an important impact in two areas: solving problems, and incorporation and/or adoption in infrastructure environments by individuals, projects and organisations.
We invite the Romanian research communities, researchers in general, policy makers in open access to data, open science enablers and the re-use of research data champions to join and discuss technological as well as sociological matters around the re-use of research data on the national, European and global levels.
This event is arranged in connection with the conference on Control Systems and Computer Science (http://cscs21.hpc.pub.ro/) in Bucharest. The RDA event is free of charge, a registration is requested in advance.
