On 19 and 20 February 2019, the RDA-Germany Conference will be held for the fourth time in Potsdam at the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ). Organizers are the association RDA DE e. V. and the Helmholtz Association.
The annual general assembly of RDA DE e.V. will take place as a joint event.
This year, the conference is particularly dedicated to the establishment of a National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI), which has been decided by the German federal government and the federal states. In a separate session, a number of consortia will be present who are planning project applications in this context. A representative of the German Research Foundation (DFG) responsible for the selection process will explain this procedure.
Of course, the Research Data Alliance itself will be an important topic. On the morning of the first day of the conference, before the actual conference opens, the tutorial "RDA for Newbies" will offer an introductory event. In the opening session, the RDA Secretary General, Hilary Hanahoe, will present the current state of organizational development of the Research Data Alliance.
