- StartFishNo, EndFishNo – the number of fish in the cage at the begin and the end of the sampling period
- AvgTemperature – average sea temperature over the sampling period
- Biol_FCR – Biological Feed Conversion Rate, which is calculated from the number of kilograms of feed used to produce one kilogram of fish, measured at the end of the sampling period
- MortalityRate – ratio of dead fishes at the end of the sampling period
- SFR – Suggested Feed Ratio, which indicates the quantity of feed given to the fishes over the period, measured at the end of the sampling period
- SGR – Specific Growth Rate, which indicates the growth of the fish in a particular period, measured at the end of the sampling period
The dataset can be accessed from here and here
RAM (RAM Legacy Stock Assessment Database) provides information exclusively on the fish stocks domain. It is a compilation of stock assessment results and time series of stock status indicators for commercially exploited marine populations from around the world. The assessments are assembled from 21 national and international management agencies for approximately one thousand stocks. The dataset is available in XML format (https://goo.gl/JgHMNY i), in Ms Excel format (https://goo.gl/rlgl9v) and in RDF format through the SPARQL endpoint (found in the Blue-Datathon VRE).
FishSource compiles and summarizes publicly available scientific and technical information about the status of fish stocks and fisheries. It includes information about the health of stocks, the quality of their management, and the impact of fisheries on the rest of the ecosystem. It is mainly exploited from seafood industry for assisting in taking the appropriate actions for improving the sustainability of the purchased seafood. The dataset is available in XML format (https://goo.gl/IwYVpp), in JSON format (https://goo.gl/2kYAfj), and in RDF format through the SPARQL endpoint
FishBase, WoRMS, Ecoscope, FAO and DBpedia. It contains information about marine species, ecosystems, water areas, vessels, etc. The dataset is available in RDF format (https://goo.gl/Yig74K ) and through the SPARQL endpoint (found in the Blue-Datathon VRE).
AquaMaps Species Distribution Maps are D4cience Geoserver hosted layers. The datasets are OGC Compliant and can be accessed through OGC Services , Openlayers, KML, GML. (https://i-marine.d4science.org/group/biodiversitylab/geo-visualisation
FIRMS (Fisheries and Resources Monitoring System) provides access to a wide range of high-quality information on the global monitoring and management of stocks and fisheries. It collects data from 14 intergovernmental organizations (that are partners of FIRMS) and contains information on the status of more than 600 stocks and 300 fisheries. The dataset is available in XML format (https://goo.gl/jK0vP2) and in RDF format through the SPARQL endpoint (found in the Blue-Datathon VRE).
AquaFish-Grading Dataset provides measurements regarding the cultivated fish characteristics, such as its weight and length. Specifically, each fish passed from one of the two graders and its weight and height automatically measured and recorded. Each one of the graders is supplied with 20 gates. The dataset contains 1375769 entries and 9 attributes which indicate the unique id of the fish (id), the id of the cage (Cage), the id of the grader, the measured fish weight and length, the id of the gate, the recorded date/time, the name of the
Aqua-Alert Dataset provides information regarding the diseases occurrence in aquaculture companies in Greek region. It contains 3018 entries of occurrences recording the starting date (StartDate) in which the disease appears in the fish population of particular fish weight class (MinWeight, MaxWeight), the description of the diseases (primal and secondary) and the kind of fish species. Moreover, the attributes IsCompleted and EndDate indicate whether the phenomenon has expired, takes the value 1 otherwise is equal to zero, and when (date). In addition, it provides the mortality percentage, the name of the region that aquafarm locates and the danger gradation.
BiodiversityLab Species Occurrence data can be described as D4cience data access to GBIF, OBIS. They can be accessed through the Biodiversity Lab VRE and save occurrences as CSV and Darwin Core formats.
The CORE Datasets are typically pre-defined large datasets, covering the needs of the Copernicus services and other activities requesting Earth Observation data, like Union financed research projects and the activities of Union agencies (EEA, EMSA, SatCen, etc.). CORE datasets are characterised by fixed tasking, systematic or not, data processing and delivery timeliness parameters defined a priori.
Bathymetry is developing and providing a harmonised Digital Terrain Model (DTM) for the European sea regions. The EMODnet-Bathymetry portal is being developed in the framework of the European Marine Observation and Data Network (EMODnet) as initiated by the European Commission
Hyperspectral images of minnow fishes
We acquired hyperspectral Images of minnow fishes with the objective of investigating if freshness of the fish can be estimated using hyperspectral imaging.
For the dataset:
- Three fishes were obtained and imaged on 8/6. Afterwards they were stored in the deep freeze
- One fish was defrosted and imaged on 9/6. The fishes were subsequently stored in normal cooling conditions
- The two other fishes will be imaged on two additional days.
For each fish, a hyperspectral image of 25 bands was acquired in the wavelength 680-970nm
Then five pixels, corresponding to different regions of the fish, were selected and the corresponding spectral profile for each pixel was extracted.
The extracted spectral profiles were stored as plots and in csv files

EMODNET Seabed Habitat
EMODnet broad-scale seabed habitat map for Europe (EUSeaMap) including classified habitat descriptors and confidence can be accessed through OGC Services. Its type can be specified as ESRI File Geodatabase and SpatiaLite database* (broad-scale habitat map including classified habitat descriptors) and TIFF (confidence assessment).
LifeWatch Greece Dataset
LifeWatch Greece portal provides the means that allow users publish, exploit, discover their biodiversity datasets through the Data Services that are provided by the LifeWatchGreece portal. The datasets that have been imported so far contain time-dependent information (e.g. occurrence of marine species). The data have been imported from the Greek biodiversity community and are exposed through the LifeWatch Greece Data Services Facilities.
