RDA 13th Plenary Meeting Information

Dear Research Data Alliance Community Members,

The RDA US community is delighted to host the RDA 13th (P13) Plenary Meeting in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA from the 2nd to the 4th of April 2019. Current travel restrictions may mean that some RDA community members may not be able to travel, will have concerns about entering or will choose not to travel to the United States.

The Research Data Alliance is an international organization with over 7000 members in 137 countries committed to supporting open data sharing and interoperability across domain, research, national, geographic, and generational boundaries. The impactful outputs developed by the RDA community over the last five years stem from the diverse capacities of our global experts who collaboratively work together harmonizing differences for the greater good of enabling data sharing and interoperability.

We are currently investigating how to best support the RDA global goals and community while being sensitive to any salient concerns over travel. While changing the plenary location is not feasible at this time, we are actively exploring options to support broad participation in P13 by all interested RDA members. We value our international community and aim to make P13, as with all previous plenaries, as inclusive and engaging as possible both at the Philadelphia venue and simultaneously outside the US.
