Building the RDA 10th Plenary agenda
As of May 2017 RDA counts close to 53 Interest and 29 Working Groups addressing domain focused and cross-disciplinary solutions to research data sharing challenges. RDA Plenaries are unique opportunities to push forward developments, seek consensus or identify new issues or milestones to be addressed.
RDA welcomes submissions for session proposals for its 10th Plenary meeting to be held in Montreal, Canada, 19 to 21 September 2017. The breakout meetings of Working Groups, Interest Groups, and Birds of a Feather, play an important role in the success of our plenaries as the meeting programme is build around them.
Addressing common data challenges
We encourage all submissions. The breakout sessions are designed to provide an opportunity for discussion, sharing experiences and best practices, laying down concrete action plans. All Working and Interest groups are free to choose the format and workplan for their sessions while we strongly encourage the organisation of working meetings. Groups are also invited to submit joint meeting applications to explore potential synergies with other groups.
Is there a topic that you think RDA should address? Make sure you submit an application for a Birds of a Feather session aimed at exploring new potential working or interest group topics. It will help you identify an audience, build support and start the work on your Case statement or Charter for an RDA Working or Interest group. It is the perfect framework to raise awareness and engage fellow researchers and data experts interested and motivated to start collaborating to address a common data challenge.

Accepted sessions are built into the programme for the 10th Plenary Meeting.

May 18, 2017: Call for Session applications opens
June 23, 2017 (17:00 UTC): Call for Session applications closes
July 28, 2017: Notification of acceptance
July 31, 2017: Final program published
August 14, 2017: Early Bird Registration Closes
September 19, 2017: 10th Plenary Meeting
