What Are Ideas Pitch Sessions?
Ideas Pitch sessions are fast-paced, collaborative sessions where you pitch your idea to the RDA community in just 7 minutes. Share your vision, connect with others, and discover potential collaborators, supporters, and resources.
This is your chance to:
- Introduce fresh perspectives to the research data community
- Test your ideas with experts from around the world
- Find allies who can help bring your vision to life
How It Works
- Explain your idea, why it matters to the RDA, and who you hope to connect with.
- Select one of six thematic areas* that best aligns with your idea.
- Present your 7-minute pitch to audience during the dedicated slot.
Six Thematic Areas*: Natural sciences | Engineering and technology |Medical and Health sciences |Agricultural sciences |Social sciences |Humanities
These thematic areas correspond to the Frascati Manual Field of Science (FOS) applied by the Research Data Alliance. They also cover the UKRI Research Councils thematic areas. We encouraged everyone to view the Frascati Manual to understand all the domains covered under each of the six areas.

One 90-minutes session with:
2 concurrent sessions
7 pitches per each concurrent session
5 minutes of presentation and 2 minutes of audience questions per each pitch
10 minutes moderated group discussion
