RDA’s 23rd Plenary – Programme and Pathways

The University of Costa Rica venue in San José will host P23 between 12-14 November 2024. P23 is scheduled as a hybrid event with in-person and online participation, with Whova [hu:va] as the official online platform.

  • Light blue coloured lines indicate the sessions that will be held in rooms with English-Spanish simultaneous translation.
  • Venue details including a map can be viewed here
  • Equal number of programme components is given to each part of the world.
  • In-person plenary days are 08:00-16:00 pm local Costa Rican time.
  • Early finish will allow time for long breaks and to explore San José.
  • The times listed below are in Central Standard Time (CST) or local Costa Rican time and Universal Coordinated Time (UTC).
  • Recordings and presentation slides will be available to all registered attendees within 24 to 36 hours and on on 17th December for the general public

    The workshop invites reflection on Interoperability in global context. Bringing together global experts on research commons/ data commons/ science clouds, the workshop places Interoperability in the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) in the context of other global models, projects, and infrastructures. Through presentations and open discussion, participants representing different global initiatives reflect on interoperability and learn from one another about the key challenges and possible solutions when developing data commons / data clouds and striving to make them interoperable.

    Agenda and Registration page
    The DataCite Connect event in Costa Rica provides a forum for discussion and networking for the RDA community. The session will discuss how persistent identifiers (PIDs) can be implemented to improve research data management, with a special focus on the FAIR principles and metadata best practices. Participants will learn about DataCite infrastructure, use cases and different repository systems that support PID and metadata integrations to comply with the FAIR principles. The session will include break-out groups and there will be plenty of time for Q&A and networking.
