About University College Dublin Library
UCD is the largest university in Ireland and one of Europe’s leading research-intensive universities. In addition to serving a population of approx 37,000 staff and students, UCD Library is also home to three world-class heritage collections: UCD Archives, the National Folklore Collection, and UCD Library Special Collections.
The Library delivers a broad suite of research services for the University including research data management, and also hosts and maintains three digital repositories: the Irish Social Science Data Archive (ISSDA), Ireland’s leading centre for quantitative data acquisition, preservation, and dissemination and national service provider to CESSDA; Research Repository UCD, which provides open access to UCD’s scholarly publications; and UCD Digital Library, a CoreTrustSeal certified repository for digitised cultural heritage data.
University College Dublin Library & RDA
University Librarian, Dr Sandra Collins, has been actively involved since the foundation of the RDA and served as a member of the RDA Council until 2023. Advancing Open Research & Global Digital Scholarship is a key pillar in UCD Library’s strategy, and the Library has engaged with and participated in various RDA events and developments for a number of years in support of this. Organisational membership of the RDA enables UCD Library to be part of a trusted network to benefit our research community, and to leverage and share expertise, solutions and best practice.
