Publishing DMPs

Thanks for valuable input to this issue. I also would like to add a correction: The recommendations in the openAIRE report I referred to was not directed to the ERC, but to EC. Thanks to Dagmar Meyer for pointing this out to me.

Best regards,

Re: [dmp-common][rda-datamanagplans] Publishing DMPs

Dear Philipp,
I just came back from Tromso, visiting the data/information literacy colleagues at UIT :-)
In Nijmegen (the Netherlands) we are busy rebuilding the DMP Online tool attached (with a tool ) to our CRIS system (Metis). We thus will archive DMPs on a university server, but registration-wise they are connected to projects, researchers and (future) datasets. We included an option for the library (central RDM support)/data stewards at our research institutes to check and approve these DMP’s.

Publishing DMPs

It is becoming increasingly common to make data management plans (DMPs) public. The Norwegian Research Council have recently updated their policy adding a section where they encourage Norwegian research institutions to publish the DMPs of their researchers (cf. – in Norwegian –

Exposing DMPs group update

Dear all,
With the new year here, and several months passed since our last call, I wanted to update you on co-chairs activity. Firstly, looking forward to the forthcoming plenary 11 in Berlin we got a session proposal in, which you can find here:
We expect to hear whether that session is accepted towards the end of January, so we’ll schedule a call early February (more on that soon).

Webinar on H2020 DMP survey

In Summer 2017, OpenAIRE and the FAIR Data Expert Group ran a survey on the European Commission’s approach to Data Management Plans and the FAIR guidelines on data management.

We've just been finalising the report and will publish this in early January in advance of a webinar where we discuss results. Ellen Leenarts (DANS-KNAW) and Sarah Jones (DCC) will present:

Active DMPs at the next RDA plenary

***Please excuse the cross-posting***
Hello Active DMP Enthusiasts,
We're writing to notify you of planned activities for the next RDA plenary in Berlin (21-23 Mar). The DMP Common Standards working group is submitting a proposal for a working meeting that we encourage all interested parties to attend. The Exposing DMPs working group is also likely to submit a proposal. We will not host a session for the interest group as we're keen to direct community energy into contributing to the goals of the working groups.

DMP Common Standards WG - Kick-off call next week

* Apologies for cross-postings *
Dear all,
we are writing to you because we have some new information concerning the
DMP Common Standards WG.
Our group is officially endorsed! Congratulations to all of you! The whole
process went very fast and smooth. This would not be possible without your
contributions and support. However, now it is time for us to deliver. The
clock is ticking and we have 18 months to produce outputs. This means that
in the 13th Plenary in 2019 we should be presenting them. From now on we

RE: [rda-datamanagplans][dmp-common][exposing-plans] Re: [rda-datamanagplans][dmp-common] RE: [rda-datamanagplans][dmp-common][exposing-plans] An unfortunate clash in the schedule for P10

Dear All
The programme for the plenary is set so any change would be very unlikely. Scheduling of session is a very difficult process when trying to avoid a multitude of conflicts.
I'm not sure why there has been no reply to e-mails but I suggest e-mailing Lynn Yarmey (in cc) to ask why these sessions have been moved to clashing slots despite the request for it to be avoided. The TAB Liaison (Carole Palmer) can also be contacted to highlight this problem.
Best wishes

Yes - I was assuming we would want to send someone there for that reason.
Suggesting a mutual exchange is a much better proposal.
