P5 discussions

Dear colleagues,

We are due to have a combined meeting at P5 for the IG and WG focussed on creating Educational Programmes in Data science for the Developing World. We will also join forces at P5 with the IG on Development.

It will be good if you could bring to my attention (via harry@essex.ac.uk) any topics you wish to discuss at our meeting P5 so that I can ensure it is listed in the agenda.

Best wishes,

Harry

Draft proposal to form WG on Summer schools

Hi all,

I've attached a draft proposal to form a WG on setting up Summer Schools in Data Science and Cloud Computing in the Developing World. If possible can I ask you to get in touch with me by say next Wednesday ? I would like to also send this out to the IG on Data Science education - would anybody have a problem with us doing that ?

All the best

Hugh

Data Science Accreditation

Hi all,

in the run up to tomorrow's meeting, I've posted a very short document that outlines a means to accrediting Data Scientists - a process for a qualification of Chartered Data Scientist. If possible please have a look at it before tomorrow as we would like to discuss this as a means of going forward.

All the best

Hugh
