Plenary 14 Session Submission Deadline Is Thursday!

With Plenary 14 (P14) scheduled to occur from October 23-25, the deadline for session submission is this Thursday, 27 June at 16:00 UTC.

Submissions for meeting sessions are open to working groups, interest groups, joint groups and birds of feather (BoF) meetings.

Please note, however, submissions are accepted from group chairs only. If you submit a session request for a group, please notify the other chairs of that group.

Dear RDA-SHARC members,
Has anyone planned to attend the CODATA 2019 meeting 'Towards
next-generation data-driven science: policies, practices and platforms',
in Beijing, China, 19-20 September 2019?
Anne-Cambon Thomsen will organise a session there about 'Expert views on
evaluating data sharing efforts and practices: an international dialogue
fostered by an interest group of the research data alliance'. You are
very welcome to participate if interested. Please let us know as soon as
possible...

Plenary 14: Call for Sessions, Collocated Events, Posters and Registration Now Open!

Taking place from 23-25 October 2019, the 14th RDA Plenary will take place in Dipoli, the nature-immersed building of Aalto University, Helsinki, in Finland, “one of the happiest countries in the world”, states Per Öster, CSC-IT Center For Science Director and Co-Chair of the P14 Programme Committee.

RDA-SHARC feedback SURVEY - Evaluating Fairness in the data sharing practise

 
Dear colleague,
 
The RDA-SHARC (SHAring Reward & Credit) interest group is working to improve crediting and rewarding mechanisms for scientists who share their data for potential reuse. In this perspective, assessing compliance with FAIR practice and increasing understandability of FAIRness criteria for everyone (data scientists AND non specialists, particularly for researchers and evaluators of projects and careers) are critical steps.

We have prepared a poster reporting the work of SHARC and its current
development regarding the e*xtensive FAIRness  assessment grid*. This

SHARC session at RDA P12, Gaborone, Botswana 8 nov

Dear Sharc members,
Louise Bezuidenhout and Fiona Murphy from our IG will be running the
*SHARC's session at RDA P12 in Gaborone next thursday 8 nov 9.30-11.00
(**c**entral african time, **UTC/GMT +2 hours)*. The objective is to 
address more specifically data sharing challenges within African
academic infrastructures and to  come up with concrete actions to

RDA-SHARC at ESOF 2018

Dear all,
Please find attached our synthesised notes from the Sharc' session that
was chaired by Fiona Murphy at ESOF 2018 this summer. The objective was
to discuss with different experts in research policy and metrics how to
give credit to scientists for sharing datasets and materials.
Nest step is RDA P12 , November 8th, Gaborone, BW. Louise Bezuidenhout
and Fiona Murphy will be chairing a session there. We'll keep you posted...
