Adaption/adoption of PIDINST for Wind Energy/Engineering community

Dear all,

I am very eager to provide new use cases for PIDINST. We are operating several static and mobile research infrastructures used in the wind energy/engineering community. As such we generate large quantities of data that we would like to relate to the infrastructures that created them (e.g., long-range WindScanner system). Therefore, for some time we have been looking for PID for instruments.

[FYI] A few updates

Dear all,
we had yesterday the group's wrap-up session at P14 in Helsinki and
with this the WG has transitioned into "maintenance mode". In the
short term we will work on finalizing the deliverables and in the long
run the group will work on adoption, in particular with institutional
instrument providers but also with PID infrastructures.
We have now published the P14 slides on the RDA website:

Identifiers for instruments?

Hello all,
I look forward to working with this group to try to encourage and facilitate adoption of identifiers for instruments. During the discussions I think some existing examples of metadata for instrument identifiers were mentioned. i think some of these were from DataCite…? If my memory is correct, it would be great to pull together these examples to identify good examples that might help us with guidance materials.

The drone data IG is hosting a pre-event hackathon working on the LANDRS project where amoungst other things we're working on creating an ontology for drone data along with an OpenAPI specification (which we ultimatley hope will incorporate the PIDST schema)
