Open hardware as research instruments

by Julien Colomb

Dear RDA WG members, We have been a group of professional enthusiasts working on the recognition of hardware and its engineering inside the research process, and we are starting a novel RDA interest group with the first objective to adapt FAIR principles for (open) hardware. We would be so grateful if you would share your experience and expertise with us, and would be delighted if you would be interested in joining the group: https://www.rd-alliance.org/groups/fair-principles-research-hardware.

Fwd: [ExPaNDS] Persistent Identifiers for Research Facilities Workshop

by Rolf Krahl

Dear all, I'd like to forward an annoucement for a workshop organized by the ExPaNDS project on Persistent Identifiers for the Photon and Neutron community, see the mail in the attachment. There are two contributions on PIDs for instruments in the wider sense, so I suggest that the workshop might be of interest for this group. ExPaNDS [1] is the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) Photon and Neutron Data Service. It is a collaboration between 10 national Photon and Neutron Research Infrastructures (PaN RIs) as well as EGI.

I now started to formulate a draft for that document, see PR #57 in our GitHub repository [1]. It is not yet complete. Most notably, the mapping of the schema onto DataCite and a definition of all the terms
