Publishing DMPs

Thanks for valuable input to this issue. I also would like to add a correction: The recommendations in the openAIRE report I referred to was not directed to the ERC, but to EC. Thanks to Dagmar Meyer for pointing this out to me.

Best regards,
Philipp

Publishing DMPs

It is becoming increasingly common to make data management plans (DMPs) public. The Norwegian Research Council have recently updated their policy adding a section where they encourage Norwegian research institutions to publish the DMPs of their researchers (cf. – in Norwegian –  https://www.forskningsradet.no/no/Nyheter/Datahandteringsplaner_sikrer_gjenbruk_av_data/1254032409350/p1174467583739).

New user stories added but we need more!

Dear all,
I am writing to share good news with you: we have 88 user stories in our open consultation on GitHub!
There are new user stories coming from a workshop that we organised in Vienna. Together with Kevin Ashley from the DCC, we managed to gather people from different institutions having different roles to discuss and write up user stories. We have analysed research data lifecycle, as well as the DMP themes. You can find the workshop report here:

DMP Common Standards Consultation

Dear all,
I would like to remind you about the ongoing consultation on the stakeholder
requirements towards the maDMPs.
https://github.com/RDA-DMP-Common/user-stories
We have some first user stories but we need more. If you can provide links
to important resources that can be used to formulate user stories, please do
so.
To facilitate the discussion and get more points of view, we are running a
workshop in Vienna. It would be great if you could run similar consultations

DMP Common Standards WG - Kick-off call next week

Dear all,
we are writing to you because we have some new information concerning the
DMP Common Standards WG.
Our group is officially endorsed! Congratulations to all of you! The whole
process went very fast and smooth. This would not be possible without your
contributions and support. However, now it is time for us to deliver. The
clock is ticking and we have 18 months to produce outputs. This means that
in the 13th Plenary in 2019 we should be presenting them.
During the plenary in Montreal we have presented a vision for our WG. You

Yes - I was assuming we would want to send someone there for that reason.
Suggesting a mutual exchange is a much better proposal.

I agree that the timing probably won’t be changed at this late date. Maybe we can suggest with their group that we have a rep from us join there meeting and vice versa? Maybe give 5min to plug the other group? Or maybe some other configuration to make sure everyone in each understands there is tons of overlap?

OK, that's good to know. I believe Timea Biro handled the scheduling again this
time so she is the best person to ask. However, an email to the secretariat

An unfortunate clash in the schedule for P10

Members of the RDA DMP interest group & the DMP working groups:
I and the the other group co-chairs are looking forward to joining
some of you at the forthcoming plenary in Montreal, and particularly
to the joint session on Wednesday with the domain repositories IG.
Unfortunately it seems we have a clash with what appears to be
a pertinent BoF session. I didn't spot this clash early enough to ask
the RDA Secretariat to reschedule one or other session.
The BoF in question is titled "Data Management Records and Persistent
