Dear all, As announced in the Plenary 17th session, the Physical Samples and Collections Interest Group will host a webinar series, together with the ESIP Physical Sample Cluster! We will have to sort out some details, but you can already save the date for the kick off of the webinar series! We will start the series on the 30th of June 2 pm UTC. Supporting reproducibility by capturing physical sample data and metadata in a connected electronic lab notebook (RSpace) by Rory Macneil & Harald Kusch

ES/DS consultation

Dear colleagues, We are pleased to announce that *next February 16th* will see the first ever *consultation on the convergence of DiSSCo’s Digital Specimen (DS) and BCoN’s Extended Specimen (ES)* *concepts* for enhancing global access to biodiversity data. The consultation is organized under the umbrella of the Alliance for Biodiversity Knowledge and together with BCoN, GBIF and Atlas of Living Australia (ALA). RDA VP17 Session proposal submission

Dear Physical Samples and Collections in the Research Data Ecosystem IG members,    Thank you for your session proposal for Virtual Plenary 17 titled ‘Cross-disciplinary sharing of samples and increasing awareness’. A review of all submitted proposals is now underway by the RDA Technical Advisory Board, with notifications of acceptance planned to be sent by 26 February.
