Next Kernel Information VC: January 4, 2018, 12:00 UTC
Dear all, we will meet again on Thursday, January 4, 2018, 12:00 UTC. Call details to follow (I'm assuming we can use the IU Zoom again?). Please also think about whether we can use that timeslot for a 2-weekly regular call until P11. We should discuss and decide at the call. Fwd: Form submission from: 11th Plenary Group Session Application Form
Dear all, I have just handed in the session proposal for the PID Kernel Information meeting at P11, based on the Google docs draft. Thanks to those who provided comments and additions to the draft. We can figure out the details of the presentations etc. in the weeks before the plenary. Best, Tobias -------- Weitergeleitete Nachricht -------- Betreff: Form submission from: 11th Plenary Group Session Application Form Datum: Wed, 20 Dec 2017 15:01:46 +0100 Von: RDA <***@***.***-alliance.org>0 | Add new comment
Kernel Information P11 session proposal
Hi, I've updated the session proposal document according to what we discussed; the focus is on presenting our recommendations and getting feedback, less on discussing new contents (with the exception of the "next steps" point). https://docs.google.com/document/d/1BfrsbsNUX4SK8GYIvcx2sf-MgfeVkqsRGty8... So now we know what we are up to. Good start for 2018 I'd say. :-) Unless I see any changes, I will submit this end of the week.3 | Add new comment
Re: [pid-kernel-info-wg] An initial needs assessment for the PID Kernel
by Beth Plale
mark, thanks for the thinking through that you've done. Your analysis raises numerous critical questions and offers an important perspective. One point of clarification at fundamental level: Your treatise equates a PID to a Boundary Object (as in, a PID "IS A" Boundary Object). I'd equate a Boundary Object to a Data Object (as defined in the Khan data object architecture). In latter case, the PID names a BO or DO but is not itself a BO or DO.0 | Add new comment

An initial needs assessment for the PID Kernel
by Mark Parsons
Dear PID Kernel Info group, I’ve been thinking a bit about the kernel, since our Montreal meeting. I have taken a step back and thought about this as a sociological problem and have approached it from a science and technology studies (STS) perspective. This is a bit long, but I hope it’s helpful.3 | Add new comment
