We warmly invite you to join us on 9 July 2020 at 13:00 for the RDA Ireland Meet The Experts talk: Joanna Finegan And Maria Ryan - "Archiving The Irish Web: Saving Ireland's Online Record"
This talk looks at NLI's approaches to web archiving and how the library archives events such as elections and referendums and responds to global events such as Brexit and Covid-19. It will also outline how the web archive has moved to becoming a more diverse and inclusive reflection of Irish society in the 21st century.

Next week, 15-19 June 2020, is ‘RDA Global Adoption Week’ - a virtual event highlighting the RDA Recommendations and Supporting Outputs and how they have been implemented.
The global Adoption Week will provide the opportunity to learn about RDA Outputs, converse with speakers from all around the world who have created or implemented them, and determine how to best integrate those data sharing solutions into your own projects. The global adoption week will be organised around five Research Data Lifecycle phases:

Request for comments: RDA COVID-19 Recommendations and Guidelines

Dear all,
The RDA responded to an urgent call for action and defined much needed, comprehensive recommendations and guidelines for data sharing under the present COVID-19 circumstances.
On 28 May 2020, RDA has published the pre-final version of the RDA COVID-19 Recommendations and Guidelines covering four research areas – clinical data, omics practices, epidemiology and social sciences. This document is also complimented by overarching areas focusing on legal and ethical considerations, research software, community participation and indigenous data.

CODATA Data Science Journal - extended CfP for the RDA Special Collection - 17 July 2020

Dear all,
The RDA Europe 4.0 has been granted an extension by the European Commission, and will be contributing to promoting the RDA work on a global level till the end of September 2020. The project supports the publication of a maximum of 30 articles in the CODATA Data Science Journal Special collection on RDA. Funds are still available to cover the Article Processing Charges (APC) and therefore the call for papers has been extended until the 17th of July. This Call for Papers is open to all interested applicants regardless of their geographical provenance.

From 18th March to 10th April 2020 the Research Data Alliance will be running a virtual Plenary meeting, offering session convenors and all members the opportunity to organise and participate in virtual breakout sessions.
Over the past week, the RDA Technical Advisory Board and RDA Secretariat have been hard at work to create a virtual RDA plenary experience, (VP 15) that aims to bring exciting, educational and informational sessions to RDA members worldwide.
