by Peter Wittenburg

Jamie also asked why the chairs meetings are only in the US and in EU - let me try to give an answer.

I am glad I checked! I had interpreted CEST as Central European Standard Time (which is UTC+1).

During winter UTC is equal to the time in the UK but BST (which I read as British Summer Time) has an offset of 1 hour to UTC (and CEST has an offset of 2 hours to UTC). So yes, we meet in about 40 minutes but that's 11am UTC, noon BST, and 1pm CEST. Just my 2 cents ;-) Cheers, Raphael

As a British former astronomer, I observe that BST is 1 hour ahead of UTC (and BST is 1 hr behind CEST). But we do speak in less than one hour (assuming we don’t travel too fast). Well I have it down as 13:00 CEST, which is 12:00 BST, which is 11:UTC. That is in a bit less than 1 hour (I think). AW: [rda-oab][synchronisation-assembly] [rda-oab][synchronisation-assembly] US future thoughts

by Peter Wittenburg

Hallo Jamie, there is so much going on in RDA that I did not have the time to look through the wiki of the preservation group beforehand. What I have seen and read are for example interesting documents about preservation in the HEP community and there are various pointers to interesting workshops. I also saw that you refer to ISO based certification which obviously is suitable for CERN.
