Important resource: Bibliography of Data Rescue stories
Dear All, Another item for discussion at Plenary 6 in September: One of the key ingredients for the book (see earlier circular) is a list of, or website for, stories that describe efforts, successes and maybe failures of data rescue projects.0 | Add new comment
Proposed book on "Data Rescue"
Dear Members (of both the RDA DAR and the CODATA DAR Groups): First, our efforts are being strenuously represented at the meeting next week in Paris ("Our Common Future under Climate Change"). It will be a large gathering (over 2000), and a poster will urge the case to consider the need for heritage data as true guides to today's data (which are all we have to forecast the future). A blog about the issue has been posted: http://www.commonfuture-paris2015.org/Blog.htm0 | Add new comment
Plenary #6, Paris, September
Dear Interest Group, I am pleased to announce that the RDA has (finally!) formally endorsed the Interest Group for Data Rescue, so we can begin to plan activities, meetings, and involvements in conferences. Two things are presently on our horizon: (1) Workshop on Data Rescue. This has been approved by the RDA, subject to the IG being endorsed, and will be supported by the RDA with $10K. The venue will be Boulder (CO), the date some time in the Fall of 2016.4 | Add new comment
