Thanks Jamie.
Absolutely d'accord with what you state: we need to get things into production and it is great that you in particular are very successful.
As indicated DFIG would be happy to include your points into its discussions.

Re: [rda-oab][rda-datafabric-ig] [rda-oab][rda-datafabric-ig] [rda-datafabric-ig] 3 DFIG items and one action

Dear Peter,
Thanks for these clarifications.
From the HEP side I would like to point out:
- In 2013 I presented a 2020 vision for long-term data preservation in HEP to the International Committee for Future Accelerators (ICFA)
- In 2016, we presented a paper at iPRES on the PRODUCTION services that CERN offers for the above

Fwd: [rda-datafabric-ig] 3 DFIG items and one action

Dear all,
Perhaps some of you were as surprised as me to receive this mail with “recommendations on what we should do next”.
I could certainly comment on the contents of the document - e.g. the references to HEP, the EIROforum - but my main issue is process. Is DFIG - of even a subset - tasked to make such “recommendations”?
Maybe I am mis-reading this mail; maybe it is another example of “volunteer” work (and not official); maybe I have mis-read the Council mandate?
Cheers, Jamie

recommendations note

Dear Data Fabric colleagues,
now after the change of the year we should get more active again via the list. Here are two issues to of relevance:
- A group of experts from the realm of the DFIG and other closely active groups finished a recommendations note that was requested by DG RTD of the European Commission due to a deadline. We stopped now asking for even more supporters but will put this document at the DFIG site for commenting and supporting. The document is citable and can be found here:

DFIG core session

Dear DFIG members,
I finished a very intensive time with this plenary in Denver since I had many other activities in parallel which prevented me to be more active. These will all come to an end during the coming few months. Let me briefly summarise a few major points that were discussed in the DFIG core session. For details you can also look at the attached slides.
We elected two new co-chairs:
- Bridget Almas from Tufts University US
- Li Jianhui from CAS China

AW: [rda-datafabric-ig][rda-dft][rda-collection-wg] Some thoughts on "Data Aggregations" terminology & concepts

Dear all,
the DFIG co-chairs are impressed about the intensive interactions. Due to some events and other tasks we were not yet participating in the debate. Coming event we will come up with some opinions, in particular since we also need to plan the sessions in Denver.
best
Peter

Some thoughts on "Data Aggregations" terminology & concepts

There may be useful analogy to a physical sample that is collected.
You have that object at birth with an id, but over time you can add to this
and take away from it. The original ID serves a purpose but you may need
an ID for the current state
of the object at any time there has been change.
