Invitation to the Interest Group in Agricultural Data (IGAD) Pre-Meeting P12

Dear IGAD members and interested parties,
On behalf of the RDA [1] Interest Group on Agricultural Data (IGAD) [2], we are pleased to invite you to the IGAD pre-conference meeting focussing on "Data collection in Africa: State of the art, challenges and solutions", that will be held on November 5-6, in Gaborone, Botswana. The event will take place during the International Data Week (IDW), November 5-8, 2018 [3] which combines the 12th RDA Plenary Meeting and SciDataCon 2018.

Ag Information Technologies: SciDataCon Abstracts due Monday

Please consider sharing your work relating to agricultural data and
information technologies, at session #215: New and Emerging Technologies in
Agriculture at
SciDataCon during International Data Week (in Gaborone, Botswana November

Plan4all will again organize INSPIRE Hack. This is Hackathon focused more on professionals, than students and this group. See the concept
This is the third year of the INSPIRE Hackathon. The workshop aims to present the hackathon results and award the best projects. The hack will start before the conference already in July 2018. The hackathon itself and the team work will be done remotely.

Agricultural Data & Information Technologies: SciDataCon opportunity

Hello all,
Hopefully relevant and useful for IGAD members and colleagues, I'd like to
warmly invite participation in a New and Emerging Technologies in
Agriculture session at SciDataCon - during International Data Week
alongside RDA P12. We are seeking contributions *from those engaged in
research or projects using agricultural data and information technologies
(e.g. ICTs, semantic technologies, FIMS, drones, etc.) to collect, link,
and distribute agricultural data and information.*Session summary below.

Hi Valeria,
Thanks so much that's really helpful! I'm not anyone who could/should be
contributing but rather on the tech-user end - definitely interested in
using the output of semantically interlinked URIs. Is there an estimated
timeline on that effort and/or somewhere public we could follow progress or
even I guess your output would be announced on this list hopefully?
Context for my question was a recent small gathering of people in the USA
interested in open tech for Ag had a sub-group looking to apply
