DPHEP workshop on "Full Costs of Curation"
by Jamie Shiers
Dear all, For those interested, we held a workshop on understanding the "Full Costs of Curation" of HEP data + knowledge over a period of a few decades. All presentations are online at https://indico.cern.ch/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=276820, as is a high-level summary (admittedly aimed at the Directors of HEP labs around the world).0 | Add new comment
Preservation Portals
by Jamie Shiers
Dear all, Although in High Energy Physics (HEP) we have in excess of 100PB of data which is "preserved" (including the associated software, documentation, meta-data, "knowledge", etc.) we have no obvious way for people to find what data is available, what it corresponds to, what are the access conditions etc. So we intend to setup a Portal and would be grateful to learn of other similar efforts.1 | Add new comment
