Universal and Unified Core Trustworthy Data Repositories Requirements

Dear Colleagues,
After an extensive period of public commentary and after conducting test
certifications, the ICSU World Data System (WDS) and the Data Seal of
Approval (DSA) Board are pleased to announce the availability of the first
version of their universal and unified *Core Trustworthy Data Repository *
*Requirements.*
The catalogue of requirements was developed through a DSA–WDS partnership
Working Group within the Research Data Alliance (RDA). The group built on

Announcement of a Comment Period for the Five Year Review of the Reference Model for an Open Archival Information System (OAIS) and ISO 16363.

OAIS Overview
The Reference
Model for an Open Archival Information System (OAIS) was developed for use
in facilitating a broad, discipline independent, consensus on the
requirements for an archive or repository to provide long-term, preservation
of digital information. It was also intended to support the development of
additional digital preservation standards.
An OAIS is an archive consisting of an organization of people and systems
that has accepted the responsibility to preserve information and make it

We had a very successful meeting in Tokyo last week where the results of the RDA/WDS WG on DSA and WDS alignment were presented and seeds for possible new working groups under the umbrella of the IG were sown in the area of certification of data services, software sustainability and data quality stamps.

Call for SciDataCon 2016 Programme Committee candidates
