Data Usage Metrics Survey for Repositories

Hi all,

Following our RDA Data Usage Metrics WG meeting in Botswana and two virtual calls since, we have put together a survey for repositories on data metrics implementations. If you are a repository provider, could you please fill out this survey?

https://goo.gl/forms/yS3NigmBJSabi5Ux2

Please help us spread the survey (through our channels, other WGs, twitter, etc) – the more responses we get the richer data we will have for our Philly meeting and the WG deliverables!

Trustworthy Data Repositories

A cohort of data repositories is being assembled to apply for
CoreTrustSeal certification as part of the American Geophysical Union
Coalition Enabling FAIR Data Project. CoreTrustSeal certification
demonstrates to a repository’s users and funders that they have been
evaluated by an independent authority and endorsed for their
trustworthiness.
We are planning a series of webinars in the first part of October to
provide more information on CoreTrustSeal and the certification process.

Looking for term definitions within your scope of work as input to P12

As part your work on data repositories does this IG have 5 or 6 terms to add to the RDA list of defined, termed concepts?

Discussion of data repositories is central to RDA and might have something to add to the current RDA effort on data vocabularies and what we talk about at P12

See https://smw-rda.esc.rzg.mpg.de/index.php?title=Main_Page for our data foundations term tool where such things are defined.

Do You Know Any Domain Repositories That Would Be Willing/Able to Share Data Management Plans?

Hi All,

I am interested in analyzing Data Management Plans but need to get access to enough of them to actually identify trends. I was wondering if anyone in this group could recommend to me any domain repositories that you think would be willing/able to share Data Management Plans that they collect from researchers who actually deposit data to them. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

All Best Wishes,

Re: [rda-metadata-ig][domain-repositories-ig][vocabulary_services] methods for auto-generating structured metadata

Hi Siri-Jodha and Beth,
I am the PI of an NSF project that is writing software to extract metadata
about variable transformations from major statistical packages (SPSS, SAS,
Stata, R). The project is called C2Metadata ("Coninuous Capture of
Metadata"), and you can find more on our website http://c2metadata.org/ .
We are planning to have the first operational version of our software in
March 2018.
If this is the kind of development that interests your group, please let me
know how I can help.

methods for auto-generating structured metadata

Hello,
The Metadata Enhancement Task Force, a sub-committee of the Research
Data Alliance Data Discovery Paradigms Interest Group, is investigating
methods for auto-generating structured metadata. Enhancing the metadata
records associated with research data improves search and supports
automation services such as data processing workflows.
The Task Force is currently developing a survey to collect information
on methods and tools for auto-generating metadata, including related
