Data Type Registry First Prototype

ITU-T X.1255

I've just uploaded to the RDA File Depot a recently approved ITU standard relevant to this group. Its title, "Framework for Discovery of Identity Management Information' does not convey the relevance so I'm adding this note. It lays out the Digital Object Architecture, including types and type registries, as the underpining of the 'Framework' which puts it into a referenceable techncial standard. Data type description formalization

Hi DTRs We are interested in the 'schema' for the data type descriptions being proposed for the prototype DT registry (I recall it is JSON). We would like to get some experience using it for data types that we use, and evaluate whether it provides enough scope for our needs. This should provide some validation of the design. We are also interested in variant serializations, including RDF. This is not hard to derive from JSON of course.1 | Add new comment

New Mailing List for DTR Group

All, The RDA mailing lists are being redone such that membership in RDA Working Groups, Interest Groups, and so on automatically result in being a member of the corresponding mailing list and, even better, all messages to the list are posts to the group. The upshot of this welcome change is that the old list (rda-cwg-typeregistry AT lists.rd-alliance.org) will be discontinued and archived as of 23 Dec. The new group is rda-dtr-wg AT rda-groups.org, and if I've done everything this message should be the first one to the new list.0 | Add new comment
