Reminder: RDA WGDC Registration open for webinar on adoption by the Earth Observation Data Center (EODC)

Dear all,
Just a quick reminder:
Registration is now open for the next webinar given by the team who implemented the data citation recommendations in the Earth Observation Data Center (EODC), a repository providing access to Sentinel 1-3 satellite images from ESA, based on PostgreSQL and PostGIS data base for the metadata query processing and a file server hosting the actual images.
The webinar will be held on Wed., 20. 11. 2019, 17:00 CET

Deadline for P15 Group Session Submissions Fast Approaching

Dear Group Members, 

The deadline for group session submissions for Plenary 15 is 28 November 2019, midnight UTC – just two weeks away.

If your group is interested in submitting a session for a working group, interest group or joint meeting session, submissions will only be accepted from your group chairs, so be sure to coordinate with them to ensure proper communication of the submission.   

If you are a chair and submitting for a joint meeting session, all chairs involved in that joint session must be notified of the submission.

RDA WGDC Registration open for webinar on adoption by the Earth Observation Data Center (EODC)

Dear all,
Registration is now open for the next webinar given by the development
team who implemented the data citation recommendations in the Earth
Observation Data Center (EODC), a repository providing access to
Sentinel 1-3 satellite images from ESA, based on PostgreSQL and PostGIS

the actual images.
The webinar will be held on Wed., 20. 11. 2019, 17:00 CET

Slides from the WGDC Break-out Session at P14 in Helsinki uploaded

Dear all,
Thank you very much for joining the WGDC break-out session during
Plenary 14 in Helsinki yesterday. Thanks, particularly, for the lively
discussions and to the adopters who presented teir current implementations!
I uploaded the slides (which this time also contain an compact list of
the major standards referencing our recommendations, the reference
implementations as well as deployed pilots and on-going implementaton
initiatives). These are available in the file repository of our WG at

Remote Participation

  • Remote participation will be available in each meeting room through GoToMeeting, which will be running from the laptop provided by the University. By just opening your presentation on this laptop, remote attendees will be able to view your slides and hear you speak.

CODATA Data Science Journal Call For Papers: Research Data Alliance Results Special Collection

Plenary 14 Session Submission deadline is Thursday!

Dear members of the Data Citation WG,

With RDA Plenary 14 scheduled to occur from October 23-25, the deadline for session submission is this Thursday, 27 June at 16:00 UTC. Submissions for meeting sessions are open to working groups, interest groups, joint groups and birds of feather (BoF) meetings.

 

Please note, however, submissions are accepted from group chairs only. If you submit a session request for a group, please notify the other chairs of that group.

New WGDC Chair Composition

Dear all,
Following our WG session at the Plenary in Philadelphia we had some
discussion concerning the co-chairing of this WG. Ari indicated that he
was stretched over too many activities recently so that he wanted to
resign from the role as Co-Chair of this WG. I was sorry to hear that -
but I can definitely understand the motivation for this decision. Ari:
sorry to see you go in your role as Co-chair, but I hope you will still
be able to join and contribute to our activities in the future via

Break-Out Session on Data Citation today at Break-Out 4, 12:00-13:30, commonwealth B

We are looking forward to seeing many of you in today's break-out
session of the Working Group on Dynamic Data Citation, which will take
place from 12:00-13:30 in Commonwealth B.
We will provide a quick overview of the recommendations, a list of all
adoptions so far and then focus on new adoptions, specifically
- NICT Data Plattform
- No-SQL (MongoDB) for CKAN
- Dendro Data Repository
- OpenEO: Earth Observation Data Center (EODC)
and discussing FAQs on the recommendations.
