Small chapter on Dynamic Data Citation published

by Chris Schubert

The CCCA Data Centre published in June 2018 a short description about the our RDA Pilot Implementation on Dynamic Data Citation and Subsetting at Springer Lecture Notes “Service-Oriented Mapping - Changing Paradigm in Map Production and Geoinformation Management“. Within “Handling Continuous Streams for Meteorological Mapping” we described our approaches by using the RDA recommendations on Dynamic Data Citation, how to deal with persistent identifier, data versioning metadata, etc. and why dynamic is such an important aspect for large and frequently changed data.

DCO present in Berlin

by Mark Parsons

Hey Andi, Ari, and crew, As mentioned the Deep Carbon Observatory Data Portal. is working on adopting the DDC rec. It would be nice if we could report on our progress at the session in Berlin as an item under “Brief reports on use cases”. I suspect we may have some thoughts on Versioning too. Assuming he gets his visa, Ahmed Eleish, would be the primary presenter. cheers, -m.

Adopting DDC Recommendation

by Mark Parsons

Hi all, I just wanted to let you know that the Deep Carbon Observatory Data Portal at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute has received an RDA/US adoption mini-grant to adopt the Dynamic Data Citation methodology and Scholix. Two grad students, Ahmed Eleish and Brenda Thomson, will be doing most of the work. I'm hoping Ahmed will be able to be in Berlin. I certainly will be. We may want to find some time to discuss things in more details then. Meanwhile, we are all joining the Working Group cheers, -m.
