24th RDA Plenary – Daily Highlights | Day 2

Published on April 7, 2025

The second day of VP24 has flown by! Read on for highlights from today, including the results of a highly interactive RDA TIGER session on the use and adoption of RDA outputs. Plus some sessions to look out for tomorrow.

Don’t forget to share your answers to the daily questions: Day 1 and Day 2!

Breakout Sessions – From Drones to PIDs

Plenary Meetings truly highlight the diversity of topics covered within the RDA. During two breakout sessions today, we enjoyed meetings on earth, space, and environmental science data, AI for ethics and human rights, drone data management, and much more in between!

RDA TIGER: Community insights on use, adoption and impact of RDA Outputs

The RDA TIGER team took to the stage to examine how the RDA community uses RDA outputs and recommendations, and identify where the TIGER project could help.

Attendees suggested several ways to make the adoption of RDA outputs easier, including use cases to show adoption examples, translating outputs into different languages, and tracking output citations.

RDA TIGER is working on a landscape report to learn how TIGER-supported RDA groups align with areas of strategic interest to the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) and wider European community. The feedback received in today’s session will help the project maximise the impact of RDA outputs, and allow the RDA community to capitalise on the knowledge created within RDA groups.

How could RDA TIGER help you? The project has three open calls for Working Group Facilitation support, Cascading Grants funding, and a travel grant for RDA members wishing to attend International Data Week 2025 in Brisbane, Australia. Learn more!
