
RDA's 17th Plenary was first conceived in 2018 as a physical event, scheduled to take place at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre. Three years later and after extensive planning, first for a hybrid event and later for a virtual get-together of the RDA community, RDA Virtual Plenary 17 took place on 20-23 April 2021 on JUNO Live.
Building Data Skills: CODATA-RDA School of Research Data Science–South Africa is now Underway Online
The School runs from 3 May to 9 July 2021 online, and is delivered by members of the CODATA-RDA Schools of Research Data Science team working closely with a team of local organisers in South Africa.

Call for Applications to Host International Data Week (IDW) 2025
Applications are now being accepted to host International Data Week 2025. IDW is a global and inclusive event organised by the Committee on Data (CODATA) and the World Data System (WDS) of the International Science Council (ISC), and the Research Data Alliance (RDA).

RDA Member Survey Individual Membership Fees
The RDA has grown significantly since its inception in 2013, and must now develop a new financial sustainability model, as original sources of seed funding are no longer available or sufficient to keep running the organisation. In December 2020, the RDA Council set up a Financial Sustainability Task Force to openly investigate a series of different financial and business models.
