The Governance Documents of RDA and the RDA Foundation indicate that Council members are to serve three-year (renewable) terms, with three members selected each year. Members of RDA are encouraged to submit names for the three open Council positions no later than 31 December 2015.
From 23 to 25 September, around 700 people — including IT specialists, researchers, educators, data practitioners, librarians, policy makers, and more — gathered in Paris, France, for the RDA Sixth Plenary Meeting. The organization itself has now grown to include over 3,300 members since its launch in 2013.
The Research Data Alliance (RDA) is working on building the social and technical bridges to facilitate data sharing and re-use. Given that data and scientific collaboration are global, it is only natural that this activity must be executed within a global framework.
Registration is now open for “The Future of the Commons: Data, Software and Beyond.” To be held Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at the National Academies of Science in Washington DC, this one-day workshop for data professionals is centers on the evolving concept of the “commons” and the various challenges associated with its development. Attendees will engage with their peers and industry experts on topics including privacy, security, and the unique and shifting needs of various research communities.
The aim of the report, prepaired by the Open Science Platform team, is to present a comprehensive overview of the current state of openness in Polish science. It covers the institutional context of Open Science in Poland and analyze its selected legal aspects, as well as describe the current e-infrastructure of Open Access.

Research Data Alliance (RDA) is pleased to announce that four of the “outputs” developed out of its initial set of Working Groups have officially been endorsed by several external organizations located throughout the world. These “outputs,” are technical and social solutions and recommendations that enable data sharing, exchange, and interoperability. Working Groups at RDA initiated their development in 2013, with the goal of sharing them with other data communities who would ultimately endorse and adopt them in their own activities.
