From September 11-17, 2016, more than 800 data professionals and researchers from all disciplines and from across the globe convened in Denver, Colorado for International Data Week (IDW). The theme of this landmark event was ‘From Big Data to Open Data: Mobilizing the Data Revolution’.

The 8th RDA Plenary Meeting was organized as part of IDW from 15 to 17 September 2016 and hosted close to 70 working, interest and BoF group breakout sessions.  It also marked the launch of 2 new RDA Recommendations and the highlight of adoption cases of the various Recommendations across domain specific infrastructures such as the biomedical science, agriculture, forestry or ocean sciences infrastructures.

Join our “What happened at the Denver Plenary?” webinar on October 27, 14:00 CET to get the latest on these developments and much more. Hilary Hanahoe, Trust-It Services, RDA Secretariat & Plenary Coordinator and Francoise Genova, Strasbourg astronomical data centre CDS and RDA TAB co-chair will give an overview of the main outcomes and answer all your questions . They will be joined by Kisun Pokharel, RDA Europe Early Career grant winner who will be giving insight into a newcomer’s participation to an RDA Plenary meeting.
