Tobias Weigel
Tobias Weigel is a data scientist at the German Climate Computing Center (DKRZ), a national HPC, data and service facility for Earth system research. With origins in research data management, particularly for the climate research community, he has been pivotal in leading the earliest RDA Recommendations on persistent identification, typing and workflow automation for research data, with operational applications in the European Open Science Cloud landscape and community-specific eScience infrastructures such as the Earth System Grid Federation. Since 2020, he holds the positions of unit coordinator and consultant team lead for the research field Earth and Environment of the Helmholtz AI platform, democratizing AI for researchers.
