Sean Hill
Sean Hill, Ph.D., is Co-Founder and CEO of Senscience, an AI venture dedicated to accelerating science through open, AI-ready research data. He is a Professor at the University of Toronto and at EPFL in Switzerland. Dr. Hill previously served as the inaugural Director of the Krembil Centre for Neuroinformatics (CAMH), where he led the integration of AI, data science, computational modeling, and open science in mental health research. From 2006 to 2024, he co-directed the Blue Brain Project at EPFL in Geneva, advancing large-scale neuroinformatics, brain modeling, and AI-driven neuroscience. He also served as Executive Director (2011–2013) and Scientific Director (2014–2016) of the International Neuroinformatics Coordinating Facility (INCF) at the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden, where he helped shape international standards and infrastructure for open and FAIR neuroscience data. Dr. Hill’s research interests span neuroscience, data sharing, and collaborative approaches to accelerate scientific discovery. He is committed to building infrastructures and communities that support open and responsible data-driven research.
