Rorie Edmunds

Rorie Edmunds most recent position was at DataCite (from February 2022 to September 2025) as the Samples Community Manager. Prior to this, he was Executive Director of the World Data System of the International Science Council, as well as Head of the CoreTrustSeal Secretariat. Rorie has held various research positions in universities in the UK and in Japan. His scientific background has covered fields including structural geology, nonlinear mathematics, design engineering and optimization, and sustainable mechanical systems. His first degree is in mathematics and he holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering.
Rorie has been a co-chair of several RDA Interest and Working Groups, include the Working Group that developed the Trustworthy Data Repositories Requirements which form the basis of the CoreTrustSeal certification standard.
