The Role of generalist repositories in the research data landscape

Plenary: RDA 23rd Plenary Meeting – San José, Costa Rica

Submitted by

Meeting objectives

Introduce the NIH Generalist Repository Ecosystem Initiative (GREI) Program objectives, outputs, and work in progress.

Hear perspectives from the RDA community about the role of generalist repositories in the global research data landscape including how generalist repositories may adopt and help set global standards for data sharing and reuse.

Identify use cases, repository functionality, or data or repository standards that generalist repositories can be leaders in to support progress in the research data ecosystem.

Use the outcomes of the BoF to prioritize future GREI work and potentially form an RDA IG or WG depending on the topics of interest and stakeholders

The group will use this session to identify generalist repository roles along with features.
