Julien Barde, IT research engineer, has a PhD in Computer sciences (2005, University Montpellier
II, France) and a Master in Fisheries Sciences as well as a Master in Spatial Information Management (2001,
Agrocampus, Rennes, France). The focus of his work is the interoperability of information systems for
fisheries and related ecological observations and environmental parameters (applied to marine domain, spatial information and biodiversity).Working for IRD since 2008, Julien is in charge of improving the management of data related to fisheries and marine domain by complying with different standards for data interoperability. He was representative of IRD (member of the board) as a partner of the iMarine European research project (FP7), in current H2020 BlueBRIDGE and next OpenAire-Connect projects. He is currently working with (and hosted by) Indian Ocean Commission.
