James Cannon
I works as a Research HPC and Storage Engineer at the University of Michigan, where I support large-scale research computing and data storage infrastructure serving hundreds of researchers across multiple disciplines. My work focuses on enabling reliable, scalable, and reproducible research workflows through Linux-based HPC systems, high-performance storage platforms, and automation. I have led multi-petabyte storage data migrations, collaborated directly with faculty and graduate researchers on data-intensive projects, and support building FAIR-aligned research data management practices. I am interested in the intersection of research infrastructure, data stewardship, and emerging computational methods, including AI agents and AI ethics in academic research environments.
