Abiel Roche-Lima

Abiel Roche-Lima, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus, where he leads the ARL Biomedical Data Science Lab and directs the Integrated Informatics Services core of the RCMI Center for Collaborative Research. His work focuses on applying Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning  (AI/ML) to biomedical, genomic, and clinical data to advance precision medicine and data-driven decision-making in healthcare. He is actively involved in developing methods and infrastructure that support collaborative, reproducible research and the effective use and analysis of complex biomedical datasets through AI/ML. He also teaches data science, applied biomedical AI/ML, bioinformatics, and biomedical informatics, mentoring students and investigators in best practices for modern data-intensive research.
