Short introduction describing the activities and the scope of the group:
The Publishing Data Interest Group is focused on all issues related to the data publication concept. The main objectives of the Publishing Data Interest Group are to promote and establish the data publication concept among scientists, data repositories, science publishers, and bibliometric service providers by addressing the issues of workflows for publishing data and establishing corresponding services as part of scholarly publishing.

The purpose of this meeting is to update the community on the activities of the IG and its working groups. Several projects are moving into an implementation and adoption phase, which should involve engaging broader constituency communities within RDA. The IG should help to initiate that. Strategies for how best to move that forward should be discussed. Also, several other RDA Working Groups related to data publishing exist and connections should be built between those WGs/IGs and the Data Publishing IG, which will also be discussed. Finally, the IG should develop plans for a next stage of our work, or plan for the group’s dissolution.
