Meeting title:

ETHRD IG Meeting at RDA Plenary 10 - 19-21 Septembr 2017, Montreal, Canada

A short introduction describing the activities and the scope of the group:

The IG-ETHRD provides a venue for exchanging information about existing developments and initiatives related to education and training on research data handling. The IG scope includes creation of taxonomies of the competences and skills required by different groups of data management specialists/professionals and promotion of training/education in handling research data throughout the data lifecycle. These may provide a basis for recognition of new data professionals, such as Data Steward, Data Scientist, Data Librarian, Data Curator, and for defining required educational and training curricula.

This meeting will focus on recent efforts addressing demands for Research Data Management education/training and on creating the connections by which Working Groups in the area of data handling education/training may be initiated. The IG meeting will discuss research data handling education and training with the goal of facilitating information exchange and use by research community.
