IDW 2023 Venue and Logistics

 

International Data Week 2023 (IDW 2023) is pleased to welcome attendees in the beautiful Salzburg, Austria between 23-26 October 2023.

Salzburg is a small city with a global reputation on the northern edge of the Alps. The "city of Mozart" and "festival city" Salzburg offers a rich cultural program throughout the year. The historic center of the city has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996. The cultural heritage and beauty of the city make Salzburg an attractive year-round destination for tourists and business from all over the world.

 

 

IDW 2023 venue

 

The Salzburg Congress conference venue will open its doors to greet IDW 2023 participants. The modern conference venue is located in the heart of the city. It provides an unexpected view across to the roofs of the old town of Salzburg where you can see Mirabell Palace with its world-famous garden, and the Mönchsberg with the Museum of Modern Art. Venue’s central location offers a five minute walk to the tourist attractions, many wonderful shopping and strolling opportunities, as well as the traditional coffee houses.

Over the past years Salzburg Congress has become one of Austria’s leading congress centers. 

Each congress’s rooms are named after a famous citizen of Salzburg whose achievements in fields such as music, science, medicine and literature contributed to the fame of the city around the world.

Salzburg's W. A. Mozart Airport is located just four kilometers from the city center, a fifteen-minute ride by taxi or public transport. Salzburg Congress can be reached directly from the airport by bus line 2.

The Salzburg train station is a five-minute walk from the Salzburg Congress. The city centre is a 15-minute walk away. From most cities in the region you can also take the regional train or S-Bahn to Salzburg. The conference centre can be reached from the train station by lines 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 25 and 840.

Salzburg is the centre of the European motorway network: the A1 Vienna-Salzburg, the A8 Munich-Salzburg and the A10 Villach-Salzburg converge in Salzburg. Please remember to buy a vignette for Austrian motorways when you drive to Salzburg. Parking is possible in the immediate vicinity of the Salzburg Congress.
