Welcome to the Norwegian Node of the Research Data Alliance (RDA)
Welcome to the Norwegian Node of the Research Data Alliance (RDA)! We are part of a global network dedicated to promoting the open sharing of research data. Our mission is to support Norwegian researchers, institutions, and organizations in enhancing and sharing their expertise in data management. The Norwegian RDA node is coordinated by Sikt, the Norwegian Agency for Shared Services in Education and Research.
Focus Areas and Objectives
The primary task of the Norwegian RDA node is to promote and support a national and interdisciplinary network of researchers and research support, as well as to establish connections between the national network and the global RDA network. We aim to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange both nationally and internationally.
Our focus is on disseminating information about data management, open research, and open science.
Our key tasks involve involving and engaging researchers, supporting them in managing research data according to best practices, making data as open as possible and as closed as necessary. This is achieved through collaboration with research support and training units within research institutions, which act as crucial links between local researchers, the national node, and the global RDA network.
Don’t hesitate to share your own updates via the posts or events. If you want to be an individual member, please register through the RDA website and join our group.

Active Working Groups
Currently, we have two active working groups that contribute to achieving our objectives:
Training and Outreach: This working group concentrates on education and communication. We organize webinars and other activities to enhance the understanding of research data and data management among researchers and other stakeholders. Our goal is to cultivate an informed and engaged community that actively contributes to a culture of data sharing.
Working Group on Sharing of Personal and Sensitive Data: This group addresses the challenges associated with sharing personal and sensitive data. We focus on developing guidelines and best practices for safely and responsibly sharing such data, ensuring privacy protection and compliance with legal requirements.
Please feel free to contact us for more information or to join one of our working groups.
