Dear RDA COVID-19 Group Chairs and Moderators,
As you may be aware, there was a recent commentary published in Nature with the following recommendation: “Stakeholders should craft recommendations — for data interoperability, management and scalability, among other things. As a community, we need to agree on how to balance openness and credit to get the best for public health.”
    * “Want to track pandemic variants faster? Fix the bioinformatics bottleneck,” Nature 591, 30-33 (2021), doi: https://doi.org/10.1038/d41586-021-00525-x
Several group leaders would like to formulate a response to this article and bring attention to the recommendations developed by the RDA WG. If you are interested in participating, please indicate your availability for a response planning meeting here: https://doodle.com/poll/8gbegywdry68y3pi?utm_source=poll&utm_medium=link
I’ve included a couple of additional group members per chair requests; just let me know if any other WG members would like to be involved.
A big thanks go to Natalie Meyers, RDA-COVID-19-Omics group moderator, for bringing this to our attention.
    Best regards,
    Mary

    All,
It looks like Monday, 15 March at 11:00 UTC works best. I’ve sent out the calendar invitation plus an update (to correct the date/time).
    Have a great weekend,
    Mary
