For Plenary 24, we aim to continue to foster community with new and old members, update the community on activities related to working groups in progress and in development, seek ideas on an upcoming webinar series, and foster cross-pollination across RDA groups on emerging topics of significance.

Target audience

Current IGAD members, e.g. the global agricultural research data community, and those from other disciplines that are related to agriculture, such as earth and space science, social sciences, public health and nutrition. Current and future participants in AIDV-WG interested in agricultural use cases.

Group Activities and Scope

IGAD serves a wide variety of data scientists, librarians, and researchers in the agricultural domain. It seeks to be responsive to community needs. We connect members to appropriate Research Data Alliance groups such as the Ethics in and foster development and engagement of working groups relevant to agricultural enterprise. We are particularly interested in participation and ideas that cross existing geographic and disciplinary siloes.

ESOC-Future/RDA Artificial Intelligence and Data Visitation Working Group (AIDV-WG)

Short Group Status

IGAD was established as an Interest Group in 2013 with Plenary 2, IGAD became the first RDA Community of Practice in 2022.

Ethics in Agricultural Data Working Group was endorsed in 2024.

Artificial Intelligence and Data Visitation Working Group is recognized and endorsed.

Agricultural Research Data Integrity held a birds of a feather in P23 and is in the process of forming as a working group.
