To review progress against the three deliverables in the GORC II Statement of Work:

  • Identifying and defining implementations of the GORC IM that may then be referenced as examples for commons development, including both classes of possible implementations based on commons type and specific, actual implementation examples by existing commons (D1);
  • Improving usability by creating an interactive container for the GORC IM that includes documentation, thematic subsets of the mode, and mappings with existing frameworks, models, vocabulary, and principles (D2); and
  • Ensuring updated relevance to current literature and community considerations on commons and research infrastructure by continuing our literature analysis and subsequent updates to the IM (D3) as the field of research commons evolves.

And to share updates to the GORC IG typology and roadmap.

Group Activities and Scope

The GORC IG is working to develop a roadmap for global alignment to help set priorities for Commons development and integration. In support of this, the GORC IG has developed the GORC IG typology of commons essential elements as a supporting output. The IG is reviewing this typology over time, informed by different adoption usecases, and also coordinating relevant Working Groups (Health Data Commons WG, GORC International Implementations WG).

The Global Open Research Commons International Implementations Working Group (GORC II WG) will maintain the recommendation and supporting outputs from the GORC International Model WG (GORC IM WG), specifically for the GORC International Model (GORC IM, most recent version is V1.1, also available as a comment-enabled Google Sheet), through the improvement of its usability by and relevance to the commons and research infrastructure community.
