Agenda for the coming meeting

    Dear all,
As communicated to the list during august, our IG has the time slots
already assigned for the next RDA plenary in Amsterdam. Now it is time
to complete the agenda and schedule the presentations and discussions.
The latest version I have of the tentative agenda is this, any further
input or proposal is of course welcome:
    Tentative agenda
·Definition of the spectrum of data professions
·Approach to define the professions-competencies matrix.
    ·Domain-specific presentations:
oSocial sciences (Alexia Katsanidou, Leibniz Inst. for the Social Sciences)
    oAgrifood sector (Vassilis Protonotarios, AgroKnow)
·From the WG Data Science Summer School — discussion on delivery and
teaching modes. (Hugh Shanahan, U. London)
·Open resources and MOOCs on data professions (Valerie Brasse, IS4ri)
    ·Cases and experience:
oData curation teaching in the information science curriculum (Andrew
    Cox, U. Sheffield)
oAPARSEN training/qualification in science data preservation (Matthias
    L. Hemmje, FTK)
oCODATA work on Capacity Building (Simon Hodson, CODATA)
For domain-specific presentations, the structure of the presentations is
    suggested as follows:
1.What type of data are used in your discipline and what are the
    problems/difficulties they pose
2.What skills do the data professionals need to have (potential
differentiations between data collections and secondary data users?)
3.What trainings are already offered, plus an assessment if they are
    enough and certification currently offered.
4.What is still needed, and how could a collaboration with other
    disciplines be of benefit?
    Regards,
    Miguel-Angel
