Group Activities and Scope

The Community-based catalogue of requirements for trustworthy Technical Repository Service Providers Working Group (TRSPs WG) will address a significant need in the community of data repositories and associated services worldwide: how to extend the umbrella of trust to a wider group of data repositories by characterising common attributes of repository service providers (exemplified by formal certification authorities such as ISO, nestor, and CoreTrustSeal). Three types of extension are in scope:

  1. Inclusion of service providers and software developers into mechanisms of assessment;
  2. Defining levels of maturity or performance of repositories and service providers prior to certification;
  3. Broadening the scope of certification to generalist repositories
