To add something from finnish perspective there is large amount of environmental/biodiversity data available. Two largest national data providers for decision making and monitoring are finnish environmental institute and natural resources institute Both of which are governmental research and expert organization. These are of course different from FinBif, since they are in charge of reporting for EU and collecting data is part of their duties, but have large amount of data from biodiversity point of view.

In Croatia there was not (jet) an assessment performed on contribution of (national) biodiversity data systems to support national reporting to EU or different environmental impact assessments and other… however, I can say that plant databases are organised and open (Flora Croatica: and CPGRD: with some aromatic and medicinal plants)
NGO (BIOM) database collects citizen science and nature/monitoring projects data as well as (Association Hyla). However, I know that even more data is used and available upon request in the databases of these two NGOs with records reaching 2004, but have not been cleaned or/and openly published.

    Dear Kheerand,
I used to work for FinBIF until the year 2016 and during that time some of the European nodes did a small survey study to find out how different EU-countries GBIF nodes can support national reporting to EU. The project ended in 2017, so I was not part of the final report, but maybe you’ll find some examples from the reports that the BIREME project produced.
Do you already have contact to FinBIF? I can approach them, if you can speci! fy in more detail what kind of info you need. You probably already have visited their site ?
    With best wishes,

Subject: [rda-biodivdataintegr-ig] Looking for examples of biodiversity data systems that support government decision making
    Dear members,
I’m wondering if you could help me with some pointers. I am in need of doing a compare and contrast exercise of biodiversity data systems established for the purpose of supporting government decision and policy making around the world. I’m not looking for the global facilities such as GBIF, but for any national services such as FinBIF. Are there other examples that anyone can point me towards?
    Kind regards
