We would like to invite you to participate in the CoARA, European Commission, ENRIO, EDI, and TUM Think Tank conference on ‘Advancing responsible research assessment for funders in the European digital space: A dialogue on ethics, integrity, and open infrastructure’ to be held this Monday 2 June 2025 at the Palais des Academies (Royal Stables, Salle Ilya Prigogine) in Brussels from 9:00 to 16:30 CEST (Brussels time). Please find attached the programme. The conference is open to in-person and online participation: registration is via this link.
We apologize for the late notice.
We would like to invite all participants to contribute to the Research Assessment Conference Concept Note. Please do and please involve your organization as you see best. We will share the final document with the European Commission and on Zenodo – which will be directly following the conference in respect of the Commission’s Thursday 5 June deadline for input.
As indicated on the first page of the attached programme, the conference focuses on the following documents, with the aim of contributing to the High-Level Conference on Reforming Research Assessment, Re-thinking Research Assessment and Excellence, upcoming on 3 to 4 December 2025 in Copenhagen as well as the Commission’s Call for Evidence below:
• The Call for Evidence from the European Commission on ‘A European strategy for AI in science – paving the way for a European AI research council’ (contributions by Thursday 5 June),
• European Commission, Report on Research Assessment (March 2024),
• The European Commission’s AI Continent Action Plan.
Please feel free to share this with colleagues who may be interested.
We look forward to welcoming you online (or even in-person) to the Palais des Academies this Monday 2 June.
Kind regards,
Francis
