    Dear AIDV-WG members,

Thank you for such a good meeting yesterday. Thank you especially to Elif for chairing the meeting and taking us through all the ‘administration’ in such a nice way. Thank you to Manolya for the excellent work on the website. Most especially thank you to Natalie for the wonderful overview of AI frameworks under development.

Please find here the link to a recording of our meeting, Passcode: Z.+=Z80S  Attached is also the meeting chat file, also containing some excellent points and links. Please also find attached an updated list of the AIDV-WG co-chairs, team leaders, and fellows. Do check this list to see if it is correct. And we are still open to those willing to sign up.

Also, as you likely will have seen, our RDA 20th Plenary (P20) session application titled ‘AI in Data Policy and Data Governance: Designing Research Methodologies for Crisis Situations’ has been approved. We do this as a joint meeting with the International Data Policy Committee (IDPC) of CODATA, International Science Council. It will be a hybrid session (in person and virtual/online). Please visit the session description on the RDA website and let us know if you have any suggestions for the specific topics, agenda, and speakers. Also, if you plan to be in Gothenburg, Sweden, for the conference, let us know that as well.

We also submitted a second proposal for a session on ‘The Ethics of AI and Data Visitation: Building Blocks for Data Commons and Open Science’. We have not heard back on this yet, but will keep you informed.

As we discussed briefly yesterday, we will continue to think about putting together a series of webinars in order to better inform ourselves about the very large and complex topics of AI and data visitation. If you have any suggestions for topics and/or speakers, or if you would like to present on something yourself, we would appreciate hearing from you.

Finally, and not of least importance, Professor Rita Sitorus (ritasito@yahoo.com) inquired about data sharing agreements of which any of us might be aware. If you have any documents of this sort that your can share with Rita, that would be helpful to the discussions in which she is now involved. You may also consider sharing these documents in cc with Dr. Manolya Şekerlisoy (bm.sekerlisoy@gmail.com) and Manolya will add them as resources to our website.

If you have any suggestions for us going forward, do reach out to any one of the co-chairs. We would appreciate your advice and direction.

    Kind regards,

Francis (also on behalf of Elif, Claudia, and Tshiamo)
